This was the second castle we visited during our trip. It was only a 5 minute drive from our hotel and well you saw the view we had of it from our room window.

You remember the stories about the Sheriff of Nothingham, well his name was John. Yes he turned out to be one of the Kings of Ireland. He only visited Ireland twice in his life, and this castle was built for him to live in while he was here. He was not liked by the Irish and that's why he only visited here 2 times. The castle has a lot of wood carvings depicting things that took place while he was King.
